Recipe of the Week
Make it a goal to cook one new recipe per week.
Search the internet for new recipes using the items you already have in your kitchen. Avoid recipes with ingredients you don’t frequently use. Unusual ingredients are a fast way to increase your food budget. The goal is to make something new with things you already have.
Make it a family affair. Assign each family member a week and allow them to select the recipe of the week.
Remember to keep it fun! The more family members in the kitchen, the higher the likelihood everyone will want to eat the Recipe of the Week.

These are literally the best cookies you will ever bake! With five different types of chips, peanut butter, and oatmeal all in one dough, these cookies satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth. Kids love to make them, but they love to eat them even more! Click the image for the recipe!
End the snack negotiations with your children. This snack is sweet and nutritious as well. Made with graham cracker crumbs, coconut and semi-sweet chocolate chips, Magic Cookie Bars are fun to make. They are easy for little chefs to make too, with a little help. Click the image for the recipe.
Making homemade applesauce for your family is easy. You can make as much at a time as you want. Once you learn the basics, you can easily modify it for different sugar quantities, textures and flavors. Since no two batches are the same, applesauce is always a welcome treat. This Peppers Casserole recipe is a family favorite. The recipe is adaptable, so feel free to experiment with your favorite veggies. If you precook the ingredients, you can throw it all together in 15 minutes for a quick after work dinner. Click the image for the recipe.
These muffins are an easy way to get your kids to eat more vegetables? Not only are they muffins delicious, but they are nutritious, with carrots, zucchini, raisins and walnuts all rolled into one. What an easy way to get your kids to eat their vegetables! Click the image for the recipe.
I use this recipe to make condensed milk out of evaporated milk. It is a much cheaper baking option and this way you only need to keep one item in your cupboard instead of two! Click the image for the recipe.
